Fatness and being overweight is reaching endemic proportions in the United States at the moment. Our deskbound lifestyles and the Standard American Diet are making us heavy, idle and unhealthy. We don’t keep fit and we don’t eat right.

Our bodies have evolved throughout the past to shelter us from food shortage. That means that our bodies naturally conserve fat and energy to keep us alive in case there is no food to be had. However competent our bodies might be at doing this the fact is that these days the only scarcity that we ever go through is the self-imposed one from the limiting diets that we go on.

However, our bodies do not know the difference and our metabolisms end up slowing down and conserving all of the energy that it can. That is one basis why it gets harder and harder to lose weight with every ensuing diet.

The remedy to the predicament may be as easy as to discontinue the diet roller-coaster and start eating. In other words, start working with your natural biology and start eating the way your body was designed to eat.

It is more than just starting to eat again, however. The Standard American Diet, which is also known by the appropriate acronym SAD greatly contributes to obesity and being fat. The rationale why is that our bodies were never designed to eat the unhealthful, nutritionally bankrupt and processed foods that are so abundant in our culture.

Our bodies were intended to eat the vigorous, healthy and organic foods that are found plentifully in nature. Nature provides the foods that are optimal for our bodies. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains and even fish and lean meats. The less processed and the more natural the food the better it is for our bodies.

Human beings are also designed to move, work out and be dynamic. Our ancestors did not lead the inactive lives that many of us have today. They were moving about, up and around as part of the course of their lives. Achieving optimum health and losing weight for good requires both exercise and optimum nourishment.

Combating obesity, losing weight for good and creating optimum wellbeing starts with including the healthiest foods in nature into your diet and incorporating an work out strategy into your life. You will see the results and your body will thank you.
