Weight Loss Results – The Zone Diet
Dr. Barry Sears is the author of The Zone Diet. The unique way this diet works it to help control heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes, the fact that weight loss results during the program is an added bonus. Many diets today focus on eating smaller meals and eating them more often during the day. If you are working out then you need more energy to keep up with your workouts, the zone diet is all about good nutrition.
Take a look at what you’re currently eating. The Zone Diet focuses on healthy foods like chicken and vegetables. Beans, whole grains, fruits and vegetables are good for you, and should replace junk food and refined carbohydrates like white pasta or white bread.
Because the zone diet does not limit you on taking in calories you have to be sure that you are trying new foods so your body will become more accustomed to burning them instead of storing them. Glucose is derived from milk products, egg whites instead of whole eggs and low fat cheese and milk.
If you want to lose weight, the Zone Diet can make it very easy to do this and it’s also pretty easy to stick with the program. The idea behind the diet is to eat healthier, so that in addition to losing weight, you also combat diabetes and lower your blood pressure. In some cases, this may actually alleviate certain medical conditions.
If you want to lose weight and stay healthy, too, you may want to try the Zone Diet. It’s not a medical prescription, but if you want to start this program, you should see your doctor first; that way, you can be monitored by your health care practitioner when you’re on it so that you can see how you are affected by it. Even though many professionals will tell you that this is a good diet to have, only your doctor can tell you whether or not it’s really right for you and how it’s going to affect you.
So many people today haven’t learned cooking skills, or at least haven’t kept them up. They Zone Diet also has a book that goes along with it, so that you understand the foods you should be eating and the ones you should stay away from. Once you get in the “Zone,” you should also work out and begin to include exercising your day, too.
Finding out how much protein you need is the most important part of the zone diet. The only way to get weight loss results is to limit your intake of carbohydrates that slow down the body’s process and take in protein to build muscle. Diets are not about starving you but feeding yourself the right foods.
The diet is based on these numbers, 40-30-30 40% carbohydrates such as chicken, vegetables and fruits, 30% protein and 30% fat. The diet is not so strict that you cannot have ice cream but you should only have half a cup. The fact that most people understand is that in order to combat a disease you have to go in the opposite direction to find the cure.
